The Bedford Garden Club - Founded 1927
About us. . . . . . . . .
Since 1927, The Bedford Garden Club continues to be one of the leading servie clubs in Bedford. As the oldest active gardening club in Cuyahoga County, The Bedford Garden Club has provided educational programs, plant sales and exchanges, field trips and other activities for the past 88 years. Members support or maintain a variety of gardens and projects, including the rotunda beds at City Hall, the Bedford Historical Museum, Babyland in Bedford Cemetery and the Community Gardens behind Central Elementary School. The project this year will be the installation of flower boxes on the historic Union Street Bridge.
Additional community involvement includes participation in an Arbor Day tree planting, the Bedford Strawberry Festival, the Harvest Festival, sponsors of Bedford Beauties, the Celebration Of The Arts Weekend, Christmas in Bedford Falls and other events.
As concerned citizens, they have a history of interest and involvement in environmental issues that impact the community, sustainability, and civic beautification. The Club typically meets the third Thursday of each month, except in January, February and July at the Ellenwood Recreation Center. Review the Program schedule for exact information.
