Back by popular demand, the nationally acclaimed organization known as “World Changers” will be returning this July 9th to 14th to our communities to perform its “make-over magic!”
Approximately 150 or more students and adult volunteers from all over the country will provide the labor to help selected residents with minor construction or exterior maintenance repair projects such as: painting the exteriors of houses, repairing roofs and gutters, step repairs and construction of handicap ramps. Although the labor is provided by the volunteers, funding will be needed to purchase the necessary materials and equipment. The City will be pursuing a combination of private and public fundraising efforts to offset these costs. All donations received will be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Should we be unable to secure adequate funding, we will need to limit the number of projects and/or limit the program to residents who can provide the supplies for their particular repair project. But remember, absolutely no money will go to the volunteers. Click here for an application or applications can be picked up at City Hall or the Ellenwood Center. Since 1990, World Changers has been working to change the world for the better, one house at a time. Our communities are privileged to be part of this effort for our second year!
