Broadway Business District June 2nd 10:00am to 2:00 pm. Artists of all ages, professional or amateur, are invited to have fun and express their creativity on the sidewalks of downtown Bedford. Meet at 704 Broadway to receive free chalk and assigned space. Cost: Free. Prizes are awarded.
WEEKEND OF THE POOKA: A Celebration Of The Arts Bedford Commons September 14 – 16 Bedford celebrates the arts at the third annual Weekend Of The Pooka: A Celebration Of The Arts, September 14 – 16th, on the Commons of historic Bedford. This year’s gala begins with a concert by the Olympic Brass in the Old Church On The Square. Reservations are required. Saturday and Sunday offer a fine Art show and Sale by outstanding northeast Ohio artists. Children’s hands-on art activities, live entertainment by bands performing modern jazz, Zydeco, or Bluegrass. New this year: Meet the Authors and Culinary Arts: Wine & Food Tasting. Topped off with menu items from gourmet food vendors, and you’ve got a weekend sure to please the young and the young at heart. AUTUMN CELEBRATION Downtown Bedford Month of October Paintings by students from Bedford and St. Peter Chanel High Schools, and Safely Home will be showcased in the windows of participating merchants. Enjoy this “art walk” beginning October 1st.
WINDOWS OF BEDFORD FALLS Downtown Bedford Month of December Partnering with the Christmas In Bedford Falls Committee, Bedford Arts & Culture coordinates a variety of community organizations to decorate store windows with holiday themes in the downtown business district. This year, the project will be expanded. Watch for some new and creative displays! PUBLIC ART Around the Town The first installation will be a bicycle rack designed and painted by artist Vikki Yonkers. Currently, a Call For Artists is extended to northeast Ohio artists to create designs for other projects including more bicycle racks, the water bill drop box, or installations for vacant store windows.
