The City of Bedford is committed to retaining and attracting businesses to our community. The City works in partnership with public and private organizations to enhance local capacity and provide resources that supports planning, and community and economic development activities.

The Economic Development Department has a number of programs that will assist you in your success. The City’s overall development program is designed to assist and refer programs to residents and businesses alike. The City provides avenues of resources to make your investment in Bedford. In partnership with other agencies, the City is able to offer various grants and loan programs by participating in the Cuyahoga County Urban County Program. The City is willing to provide technical assistance and offer site referrals and visits to potential investors.

Upcoming Projects

In 2010 the City of Bedford will be resurfacing Rockside Road.
The City will be starting the railroad enhancement program. This will include upgrades at North Park and Powers and the closure of South Park and Monroe.
The City will be applying for the CDBG funding through Cuyahoga County.
The City has applied for Issue II funding for the reconstruction of Woodcreek on Broadway.
Cuyahoga County Storefront Renovation

In 2009, business owners spent approximately $82,250 on renovations and were reimbursed $32,900 through the Cuyahoga County Storefront Renovation Program.
Quiet Zone

City to establish Quiet Zone under Federal Rail Administration, the public grade crossings at West Glendale & West Grace will be considered a zone.
